Advancing Open Science in Battery Research

Open Science remains a core principle of OPINCHARGE. All peer-reviewed publications are made fully and immediately accessible to the public. The project systematically applies the FAIR Data Principles, ensuring that research data is findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable. This approach supports transparency, reproducibility and wider uptake of research results.

Exploring Battery Interfaces Across Scales

The newsletter highlights progress in the ongoing Battery2030+ webinar series. The series focuses on advanced operando techniques and complementary methods used to study battery interfaces in real time.

Recent sessions explored:

• advanced X-ray techniques for interface analysis
• nanoscale confinement effects in battery materials
• non-linear spectroscopy and ultrafast processes
• computational modelling as a bridge between experiments and interpretation

Together, these approaches provide deeper insight into ion transport, interfacial reactions and degradation processes.

Scientific Excellence and Recognition

This edition also features recognition of OPINCHARGE research in Electrochimica Acta Editor’s Choice 2025. The selected publication demonstrates advanced operando methods for studying lithium distribution in solid-state batteries.

This recognition highlights the project’s contribution to cutting-edge battery research and interface science.
